Happy Summer!
Posted on July 22 2025
Summer inspires us through its warmth, light, and opportunities for connection and restoration. The longer daylight hours and sunshine boost mood and energy, while the relaxed pace encourages us to slow down and appreciate simple joys. Summer also offers a chance to connect with nature, engage in outdoor activities, and build community through events and shared experiences.
Sunlight boosts happiness by increasing serotonin (hormone) production in the brain, a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) associated with mood regulation, calmness, and focus. Exposure to sunlight also helps regulate the circadian rhythm (the body’s natural clock), promoting better sleep and overall well-being. Additionally, sunlight is the primary source of Vitamin D, which is vital for bone health and mood regulation.
Summer brings rest and restoration, often a slower pace of life, providing opportunities to recharge and reconnect with ourselves and loved ones. This can be a welcome break from the other seasons, allowing us to reflect and rejuvenate.
Summer is a time of vibrant colors, blossoming flowers, and abundant fresh produce. This natural beauty can inspire creativity, appreciation for the world around us, and a sense of wonder.
Yellow which is often linked to sunshine is associated with positive emotions. Bright yellows reflect energy. Soft yellows communicate a sense of warmth.
