Welcome Winter

Winter solstice, Sun, Dec 21, 2025, 10:03 AM, marks the beginning of winter.

Winter is the coldest season for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere because of the Earth’s tilt.  When the Northern Hemisphere tilts away from the Sun (experiencing winter, less direct sunlight, shorter days), the Southern Hemisphere tilts toward it (experiencing summer, more direct sunlight, longer days), and this reverses every six months.

Winter is a wonderland because it is filled with the sights, smells and sounds of this unique season…

A color palette of winter sunsets, frosty white snowy mornings, grays of a winter sky, evergreen hues of pine trees.

Scents of pine, woodsmoke, hot cocoa, cold crisp air, gingerbread, roasted chestnuts, peppermint.

Sounds of bird calls like the chirp of chickadees and hooting of owls, silence after a snowfall, crackling of logs on the fire.

Winter is a time to find and enjoy new and favorite experiences whether cozy indoors or invigorating outdoors.

Wishing you all the wonder of the winter season!
